Lovejoy Homestead Presentation

February 27, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

  • « Anti-German Hysteria During WWI
  • A Tale of Two Marys »

Pam Lange will provide a presentation on the Lovejoy Homestead.

Pam studied American history in college and wrote a master’s thesis on Owen Lovejoy.  She worked at the Bureau County Historical Society for twenty-five years, with the position of Executive Director from 2001 to 2016.  She has been a member of the Lovejoy Homestead Board of Trustees for twenty-seven years.

Her program will focus on the Lovejoy Homestead in Princeton, a former station on the Underground Railroad and now a museum open to the public.  She will also talk about the Denham and Lovejoy families who occupied the home for almost 100 years, and the Underground Railroad.

Last year she updated a 1949 booklet on the history of the Homestead.  The new booklet features more information on the Lovejoy family and the continuing history of the Homestead.  The new edition will be available for purchase the night of the program.
